YMCA Essex has a desire to deliver housing solutions for the local community where affordable accommodation is in short supply.
The ultimate goal of any development by YMCA Essex is to deliver additional housing for young people in housing need and enable greater levels of support and lasting positive impact. This includes move on accommodation for its scheme in Colchester.
We provided an initial report detailing summaries of local housing strategies in light of these aspirations. Potential types of housing that may be suitable for development by YMCA Essex were hightligted and key features summarised. Both revenue and development funding models were provided and along with a delivery process
We are now working up detailed appraisals for two housing opportunities in Colchester and Chelmsford. This includes worked up proposals in consultation with local officers, Homes England and the delivery partner Y-Housing.
